Lenten Read for Literacy 2012

An idea in its infancy but there's a year for it to take root and grow. If you're new to the idea of a Lenten Read, there's an introduction here. This is the third year I've done it and I'm absolutely delighted that through the Twitterverse several others have joined in the challenge (#lentenread). Through an exchange of ideas, we have come up with the intention of making it a national or even international event next year - a sponsored Lenten Read to support literacy programs. It would be wonderful to get the Irish National Adult Literacy Agency and the UK National Literacy Trust involved. Lent begins on February 22nd next year, probably a little too early to coincide with World Book Day/Night but one would give a great boost to the other just the same.
